Carl Mosebach and I planning another gathering in Sacramento.  We will convene again at First Baptist Church, Sacramento on Saturday, June 13th.  The meeting will include prayer & worship and discussions of action steps towards transforming our schools.  We will also break bread together for lunch and LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS CHRIST LOVES US!  We will send you details in the coming weeks (including the hours of the gathering).  Please mark your calendar and let us know if you are interested in joining us.

Allan Parker (www.txjf.org & www.operationoutcry.org) will be in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 21 to meet pastors & ministry leaders.  Allan is the leading attorney (& intercessor) working (with numerous other ministries) towards reversing Roe v. Wade.  I have personally nick named him "The William Wilberforce of America Today!"  Please contact me today, if you would like to have an opportunity to meet Allan and partner with him.

Please consider participating in & promoting National Day of Prayer.  On Thursday, May 7th, we will have the opportunity to gather with believers of ALL streams in seeking God for our nation.  If you would like to coordinate a NDP prayer meeting in your community, you can register at www.ndptf.org.  Please read the letters below from Gabrielle Jackson and Dutch Sheets regarding this year's 58th Annual National Day of Prayer.

Finally, let us remember what took place on the campuses of VA Tech on 4/16/07 & Columbine HS on 4/20/99.  If you would like to join me in intercession for the youth of our nation and cry out to the ONLY ONE who can break the curse of death that is upon them, you are welcome to participate in tomorrow morning's national conference call beginning 4:30am Pacific/7:30am Eastern.  Please check the latest posting on www.prayersurgenow.blogspot.com and connect with intercessors across America. Thank you!

National Day of Prayer ON CAMPUS: Uniting Campuses Across Sacramento

Dear Pastors and Leaders,

My name is Gabrielle Jackson and I am the National Day of Prayer Youth Coordinator for the state. As such, I have the opportunity to connect with college, high school, and middle school students across the state in praying on the first Thursday of May.

This year, God put it on my heart to hold an event where Christian students from college campuses across the Sacramento area will come together and pray for revival on their campus, in this nation, and in our generation.

I am sending you this e-mail because I know that you have a heart for our generation and I am looking to partner with those who have a heart for seeing Christ glorified. So here are the basics:

What: NDP On Campus College Event: Sacramento
Where: First Baptist Church, 2324 L Street, Sacramento
When: Thursday, May 7th; 6-9 pm

This year we are having Erica Greve, Director of Campus Awakening and Assistant Director of Jesus Culture in Redding, come and speak on the power of prayer on campuses as well as how to effectively evangelize on campus. We are also going to be sharing on what are your rights on campus and how to keep a culture of prayer at your college or university.

We are looking to create a sustainable movement in the greater Sacramento area. I know we have all been to events where people get together, pray, sing songs, and then walk away. That is NOT going to be the kind of event this is. We are looking to use this as a springboard and catalyst to unite colleges in Sacto to encourage one another, unite in regular prayer, and host brainstorming and training conferences.

Join a movement of youth desperate for God to move on their campuses. Please encourage your students and young adults to participate in this event. It is so crucial at this moment in history that we unite together in prayer.

"The goal is for all of them to become one heart and mind—
Just as you, Father, are in me and I in you,
So they might be one heart and mind with us.
Then the world might believe that you, in fact, sent me.
The same glory you gave me, I gave them,
So they'll be as unified and together as we are—
I in them and you in me.
Then they'll be mature in this oneness,
And give the godless world evidence
That you've sent me and loved them
In the same way you've loved me. "  John 17:21-22 (the message)

In addition to this college event, I am also coordinating a middle school and high school event. We are uniting students across the Sacramento area for a time of teaching and training on prayer as well as a guided time of intercession for their campus, nation and generation.
What: National Day of Prayer: UNITED
When: Wednesday, April 29th 7:00 pm
Where: Capital Christian Center, Sacramento

After the event, we are having a meeting with youth pastors and leaders concerning mobilizing prayer as well as the Call, a movement of young people desperate for God, which is coming to Sacramento on November 7th.

Please encourage your youth to attend this event. Thank you for your service to the Kingdom.

In His Service,
Gabrielle Jackson

A Message from Dutch Sheets

April 16, 2009

Today I am coming to you with a message from my heart.

Now, more than ever, the need to stand for our Christian beliefs is apparent.  There is a war taking place attacking our Christian heritage, values, and even life itself.

On April 30, 1863, during the darkest days of our country, President Abraham Lincoln called for a day of united pray and fasting.  As we approach the anniversary of that historic day, I am asking that we again petition God on behalf of our nation. In the following brief video I explain this call to prayer beginning on April 30, 2009, whereby we can agree together with millions leading up to May 7, 2009, the National Day of Prayer.

This is very important. Please join me in this endeavor.

Gripped by Him,
Dutch Sheets

An Excerpt from Abraham Lincoln’s Call for

1863 National Day of Fasting, Humiliation & Prayer

We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown.

But we have forgotten God.

We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!

It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.
